Copying or moving directories or files

You can copy and move directories and files from one directory to another by using the Clipboard Contents section of the File Manager.

Note: You must own the directory or file you are copying or moving. You also must have write permissions to the directory into which you are copying or moving the directories or files.

To copy or move files:

  1. In the directory listing in the File Manager, click the check box next to the file or files you want to copy or move.
  2. In the Actions section of the File Manager, click Add File(s) to Clipboard.
  3. The File Manager displays the Clipboard Contents section, showing the file(s) you selected.

  4. In the directory listing, drill down to the directory into which you want to copy or move the file.
  5. In the Clipboard Contents section of the File Manager, click the check box next to the name of the file(s) you want to copy or move.
  6. Do one of the following:
  7. Note: If the Move operation fails, the File Manager compensates by making a copy of the file in the destination directory; however, you must manually remove the file from its original directory.

Clearing files from the Clipboard

To clear the Clipboard of files, click Clear in the Clipboard Contents section of the File Manager.
