Checking the FTP Server Configuration

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a utility for transferring files over the Internet. You can use it to load files from your computer onto your Web site. WEBppliance does not provide an FTP connection or transfer utility; only the FTP server. However, FTP software programs are often available, free of charge, from the Internet.

For IP-based domains, WEBppliance provides an FTP Manager for checking the FTP server configuration.

Important: Because name-based domains share an IP address, they have only a single access to the FTP server. This access is available only to the Site Administrator. The FTP Manager is not available on name-based domains; however, if the proFTPd FTP server is part of the service plan provided to your domain, the Site Administrator can transfer files to the Web site.
