Viewing Apache log files

The Apache log files can be helpful in forecasting possible marketing trends and in monitoring your Web site for problems with visitor access.

The Apache Web server provides two log files.

• CustomLog

Contains information about visitors to your Web site. Every time a visitor visits your site, a line of text containing details about the visitor and the nature of the request is written to this log file.

• ErrorLog

Contains information on errors encountered by visitors accessing your Web site. This information can be valuable for analyzing server problems or problems with specific Web pages.

To view the log files:

1. In the Web Server Manager, click Log Files .

The Log Files window opens, showing the names of the logs and their directory locations.



2. In the Actions column, click Download next to the log you want to read.

WEBppliance displays the log on the screen.
