Obtaining an SSL certificate

Obtaining an SSL certificate is a three step process.

  1. Generating an SSL certificate request.
  2. Sending the request to the Certificate Authority.
  3. Loading the certificate onto your Web site.
Generating an SSL certificate request

To generate a certificate:

  1. Start WEBppliance and log on as Site Administrator.
  2. On the Site Administrator page, click Services in the index on the left.
  3. The Service List window opens, showing a list of services currently installed on your server.

  4. In the Actions column, click next to the Apache Web Server.

    The Web Server Manager window opens.

  5. Click SSL Settings .
  6. The SSL Settings window opens.

  7. Click Generate .
  8. The Generate SSL Certificate form opens.

  9. Complete the fields on the form and click Save .
  10. The SSL window displays a new certificate request in encrypted form.
